He鈥檚 continuing to try and find his game on the Champions Tour, but Jim Rutledge has been money at the PGA of sa国际传媒 Seniors Championship these last few years.

The soon to be 56-year-old Victoria native claimed his third national seniors title in four years and fourth in six seasons on Friday.

His final-round 2-under 69 at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club in Mississauga, Ont., left him at 204, three shots better than Ontario鈥檚 David Wettlaufer who, along with third-place finisher Ken Tarling, recorded a 6-under 65.

Rutledge took home the top prize of $9,000 for the three-day tournament in which he opened with a solid 7-under 64, then followed it with an even par 71 on Thursday.

鈥淭he good thing was I got through the top side of the golf course at 1-under and that had been my issue really all week,鈥 he told PGA sa国际传媒 officials afterward. 鈥淥nce I got down into the valley I just kind of held my own out there and no one really managed to make a real charge at me 鈥 so I was thankful for that.鈥

Rutledge, who turned pro in 1978, sits 89th on this year鈥檚 Champions Tour money list with $57,482 earned in 11 events. Last year he made $155,162 in 19 stops, which included one top 10 and two top 25s. Rutledge needs to finish in the top 30 to earn his full playing privileges for 2016.

His best finish this season was at the Encompass Championship last month in which he tied for 18th, thanks to a final-round 64 that led to a $26,663.34 cheque, almost half his 2015 earnings.

At the Shaw Charity Classic in Calgary last weekend, Rutledge finished well back in a tie for 66th.

He has, however, totaled $1,342,326 over his Champions Tour career.
