Junior 鈥橰ocks fall to Adanacs

The Victoria Junior Shamrocks opened the second round of the playoffs with a 13-8 loss to the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday in Coquitlam. Game 2 of the best-of-five series takes place this evening at Bear Mountain Arena, starting at 5 p.m.

The four-time defending sa国际传媒 Junior A Lacrosse League champions really took control of the game in the second period, when they scored nine goals and held Victoria to none.

Vincent Ricci, with five goals, and Reid Reinholdt, with four, led the Adanacs in scoring, and Sam Goodman, Tyler Buchan, Steven Neufeld and Wesley Berg also scored.

For the Shamrocks, Jesse King had three goals, Brody Eastwood two, and Devon Casey, Chris Wardle, and Justin Appels picked up one each.

Shots were 46-32 for the Adanacs, who had Davide DeRuscio in net, while Cody Hagedorn manned the pipes for the 鈥橰ocks.

In the other semifinal, New Westminster has a two-game lead over Langley.

Both series winners will move on to the Minto Cup national championship next month in New Westminster.
