A late collapse proved costly for the Victoria Shamrocks on Wednesday night at the Langley Events Centre.
The Shamrocks led the last-place Thunder 5-3 with four minutes left in regulation before the home side struck for three goals to upset the Shamrocks 6-5.
The loss dropped the Shamrocks to 7-4-1 on the Western Lacrosse Association season, while the Thunder improved to 2-9.
Junior call-up Cole Pickup had a pair of goals to lead the Victoria offence. Evan Messenger, Josh Fagan and Casey Jackson had the other Shamrocks goals.
Brandon Clelland, James Rahe and Cole Shafer scored for the Thunder.
Cody Hagedorn made 50 saves in the Victoria net, while Davide Diruscio stopped 30 shots for Langley.
It was the second meeting of the season between the clubs. The Shamrocks and Thunder met in the season opener with Victoria prevailing 10-9. The teams meet for the final time in the regular season when the Thunder visits The Q Centre on Friday night.
