The nationally No. 2-ranked University of Victoria Vikes welcomed back star guard Diego Maffia from injury this weekend in a sa国际传媒 West basketball sweep of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies on Ken and Kathy Shields Court at CARSA Gymnasium.
Maffia put up 31 points Saturday in the 79-58 UVic win and had 25 points in Friday night’s 87-42 victory as Elias Ralph added 24 points and Renoldo Robinson 11.
UVic is 11-3 in conference and Saskatchewan 8-8.
In the women’s sa国际传媒 West game Saturday, the nationally-top ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies moved to 16-0 in conference with a 74-63 victory over the University of Victoria Vikes. Saskatchewan, coached by Canadian 2016 Rio and 2000 Tokyo Olympics coach Lisa Thomaidis, moved to 16-0.
Guard Gage Grassick led Saskatchewan with 19 points. Tana Pankratz scored 22 points for UVic (4-10) and Abigail Becker 12.
