Meidroth helps HarbourCats bounce back to earn series split with Raptors

The Victoria HarbourCats defeated the Ridgefield Raptors 7-3 in West Coast League baseball action Friday night in Washington state. The clubs split their two-game set 1-1. Victoria was powered by home runs hit by Chase Meidroth and Ty Schindel.

The Victoria HarbourCats defeated the Ridgefield Raptors 7-3 in West Coast League baseball action Friday night in Washington state.

The clubs split their two-game set 1-1.

Victoria was powered by home runs hit by Chase Meidroth and Ty Schindel.

Meidroth finished with three hits, three RBIs and a run scored, Schindel two hits, an RBI and two runs scored and Nate Pecota two hits, an RBI and a run scored. HarbourCats teammate Parker Bramlett, coming off his four hits in the WCL all-star game this week, had three hits and a run scored. Pecota and Frankie Niemann had doubles for Victoria on the night.

HarbourCats starter Aaron Celestino took the win by going five innings with three runs allowed on three hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Victoria moved to 10-5 in the second half and 28-14 overall. The Raptors fell to 5-7 and 18-21.

The HarbourCats, who have a WCL playoff berth sewn up as North Division first-half champions, return for a non-league game Sunday afternoon against the sa国际传媒 senior men鈥檚 champion Burnaby Bulldogs at Wilson鈥檚 Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park. The Bulldogs will represent the province next month at the Canadian senior amateur championship.
