Make it an even half-dozen for Victoria golf pro Jim Rutledge.

Rutledge shook off a near-disastrous back nine in Friday鈥檚 final round at Carleton Golf and Yacht Club in Manotick, Ont., to win the PGA of sa国际传媒鈥檚 Senior Championship. It was the former PGA Tour Champions touring pro鈥檚 sixth Canadian seniors title. Only Moe Norman has more.

After opening with rounds of 65 and 66, Rutledge began the final round with a three-shot lead over Ken Tarling and a four-shot spread over Ontario鈥檚 Danny King. But King put together four birdies over his final six holes before Rutledge parred his last hole to close with a 1-under 70 and one-shot victory over King, who closed with a 67.

鈥淚鈥檓 sure glad we ran out of holes out there this afternoon,鈥 Rutledge joked in a statement, after claiming the $9,000 top prize. 鈥淕oing into the back nine, I hit some wayward shots, some miscues off the tee and the next thing you know I only end up winning by a shot.鈥

Tarling, of Ontario, finished alone in third.
