Attacking-midfielder Marco Bustos has shown enough flashiness so far in his soccer career to earn six caps for sa国际传媒 and games in Major League Soccer for the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 23-year-old鈥檚 seven goals last season for hometown Valour FC of Winnipeg in the inaugural season of the Canadian Premier League piqued interest across the league, including in the Pacific FC offices on the Island.

PFC announced Thursday they got their man and have inked Bustos for the 2020 CPL season.

鈥淢arco was one of the top players in the league last year and therefore one of the most sought after profiles this off-season,鈥 said PFC CEO and GM Rob Friend, in a statement.

鈥淗e鈥檚 young, ambitious, and extremely talented, so we are obviously delighted to have him join.鈥

Bustos鈥 slicing style of attractive, driving soccer was the highlight of Valour鈥檚 2019 season and will almost certainly add a dash of splash to proceedings this season at Westhills Stadium.

鈥淗e鈥檚 a true professional . . . and has the ability to change a game at any moment,鈥 said PFC head coach Pa-Modou Kah, himself a former pro with 10 caps for Norway.

Bustos came up through the national-team program and played for sa国际传媒 at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup and U-20 CONCACAF championship before his six caps for the senior national team, the first in 2015 in an exhibition game against Ghana.

The signing brings to 13 the number of players PFC has under contract for the 2020 season.
