The Pacific FC defender known to most fans just by his initials, TMG, will return to roam the backline for a fifth season at Starlight Stadium. Thomas Meilleur-Giguère has re-signed with the Tridents. Also emerging as an offensive threat, Meilleur-Giguère scored four goals last season in 31 appearances for PFC.

“TMG is a warrior on our backline,” Pacific FC manager of football Jamar Dixon said in a statement.

“Throughout his four seasons with us he has been a consistent, strong part of our club and he found his eye for the goal last season. We’re thrilled to have him back.”

The 26-year-old, smooth and hitch-less in stride, was born in Repentigny, Que., and was an MLS prospect for CF Montreal. Meilleur-Giguère had 12 appearances for sa国际传媒 in U-20, including in the 2017 CONCACAF championship. Meilleur-Giguère was also selected to the sa国际传媒 U-23 team for the CONCACAF regional qualifying tournament for the 2000 Tokyo Olympics.

Pacific FC also announced Tuesday that defender Paul Amedume will be returning. With the announcements last week of the re-signings of veteran defenders Kunle Dada-Luke and Georges Mukumbilwa, the Tridents are returning almost an intact back line. There has, however, been no word yet on Amer Didic, a key defender from the past few seasons.

PFC also announced Tuesday that 20-year-old goalkeeper Emil Gazdov has been re-signed. The six-foot-three ‘keeper showed his youth and was shaky and uncertain early last season before growing into the starting role as the season progressed and finished with 48 saves and five clean sheets in 21 appearances.

“Emil has a high ceiling and bright future ahead of him,” said Dixon.

“He has a lot of work to do, and we look forward to having him build off the positive momentum he experienced at the end of last season.”
