The Victoria Grizzlies will play two games in a span of 16 hours at the sa国际传媒 Hockey League Showcase as the schedule was released on Tuesday.
The Grizzlies will face Langley as the visiting team at 4 p.m. on Sept. 24 before turning around and competing against Trail as the host team on Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. at Prospera Centre in Chilliwack, all part of the annual tournament established for scouting purposes.
Victoria is expected to be a handful of games into the regular season by that point with an unofficial start on the Sept. 9-10 weekend. The full schedule is expected to be released this week.
鈥淚t is a quick turnaround, for sure, but Trail does play just before us at 1 p.m. on Saturday, so they鈥檒l have just three more hours of rest,鈥 Grizzlies general manager and head coach Craig Didmon said of the Showcase, that actually stretches from Sept. 21-25.
Grizzlies training camp is set for Aug. 22 and a summer camp for prospective players will also be held July 15-17 in Whistler.
