Two former Cedar Hill Golf Course juniors gave the fans a treat at the old course on Sunday afternoon as veteran touring pro Jim Rutledge edged Olympic View teaching pro Gordy Scutt on the first playoff hole to claim the 2016 Cedar Hill Open.

Rutledge and Scutt finished the two-round tournament tied with 131 totals so it was to the 10th hole for the playoff where Rutledge parred the par-3 while Scutt settled for bogey.

In the amateur division, Brent Wilson fired a weekend-best 8-under 59 in the opening round and followed that up with a 66 on Sunday to claim the top prize. Scott Kral was second, seven shots back.

Renfrew now turns his attention to the Mackenzie Tour opener — the Freedom 55 Financial Open — this week at Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, while Rutledge and Scutt will rest up for the Bayview Place Island Savings Open presented by the sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ June 2-5 at Uplands Golf Club.

CHIP SHOTS: Darren Day will be busy this week after the Victoria product earned a spot in the Freedom 55 Financial Open.
