The win brought the Shamrocks back to .500 at 6-6-1 while dropping the Western Lacrosse Association co-leading Salmonbellies to 11-3.
Patrick Dodds led the Victoria offence, which exploded with a decisive 6-2 advantage in the third period, with a hat trick on a five-point night. Marshal King also recorded a hat trick for the Shamrocks while Chris Wardle scored twice. The games are coming hot and heavy for the Shamrocks, who are in Coquitlam tonight to face the last-place Adanacs (1-11-1 heading into Friday night’s game in Burnaby against the Lakers).
The Island derby goes Wednesday at The Q Centre against the surging Nanaimo Timbermen (9-4-1), who are on a five-game winning streak, before the Shamrocks close out their perhaps season-defining stretch of four games in seven days Thursday at Queen’s Park Arena in New Westminster.
