Shamrocks looking for season sweep of Thunder in Langley

The Victoria Shamrocks will be looking for the season sweep when they meet the Thunder in a Western Lacrosse Association game Wednesday night in the Langley Events Centre. Victoria (9-4) won the first two meetings between the clubs, 14-7 and 13-11.

The Victoria Shamrocks will be looking for the season sweep when they meet the Thunder in a Western Lacrosse Association game Wednesday night in the Langley Events Centre.

Victoria (9-4) won the first two meetings between the clubs, 14-7 and 13-11. The Thunder (5-9-1) are second-to-last in the WLA standings and have been eliminated from playoff contention, as had the last-place Coquitlam Adanacs (2-12 heading into Tuesday night鈥檚 game at Cam Neely Arena against the Maple Ridge Burrards).

Jesse King of the Shamrocks is second in WLA scoring with 71 points, 10 behind leader Logan Schuss of the New Westminster Salmonbellies. Casey Jackson of Victoria is second in league goals with 35, two behind leader Curtis Dickson of Maple Ridge. Rob Hellyer has 31 points in seven games since joining Victoria.

The Shamrocks face the Burrards in the Q Centre on Friday night and will visit Coquitlam on Saturday night to take on the Adanacs.
