Shaugnessy pro tops all at Bayview Place Performance Tour stop

Evan Holmes from Shaugnessy shot a 3-under-par 68 on Sunday at Bear Mountain to win the 11th of 15 events of the Bayview Place Performance Tour. Michael Griffin and Jim Rutledge, both of Uplands, finished with rounds of 2-under 69 to tie for second.

Michael Griffin and Jim Rutledge, both of Uplands, finished with rounds of 2-under 69 to tie for second. Andrew Funk of Gorge Vale fired 70 in a round that included a hole-in-one on the par-three 15th hole. Ben Griffin of Uplands rounded out the top-five at even-par while Cash Reumkens was alone in sixth place at 72.

The battle for the top spot on the Bayview Place Order of Merit tightened. Nate Ollis, assistant professional at Cordova Bay, retains a 146-point lead over the two-time Canadian Mid-Amateur champion Kevin Carrigan of Royal Colwood. Zach Anderson rounds out the top three in the Order of Merit.

The Order of Merit race for club professionals is led by Isaac Weintraub of Gorge Vale, who tied for seventh on Sunday, and pulled ahead of Pheasant Glen assistant pro Travis Busch.

The top three players on the Order of Merit will receive exemptions into the PGA Tour sa国际传媒-Mackenzie Tour鈥檚 2019 Bayview Place DC Bank Open from May 30 to June 2 at Uplands. In addition, the top Island club pro not in the top three will also receive an exemption spot into the event.

The 12th Bayview Place Performance Tour tournament is Saturday at Cordova Bay.
