Reigning world junior champion Team Tardi from Victoria and Langley won the 2019 sa国际传媒 junior men鈥檚 curling title with a 9-2 win over Team Colwell from Vernon, Kelowna and Invermere at the Vernon Curling Club.
This is the fourth consecutive year Team Tardi has won the provincial championship. The team also won the 2017 and 2018 Canadian junior championships and will going be for the three-peat in Prince Albert, Sask., from Jan. 19-27.
鈥淚t means a lot. Every single one is special. It doesn鈥檛 matter if it鈥檚 your first or last, it鈥檚 always an honour to represent your province, and we鈥檙e excited to go back again,鈥 skip Tyler Tardi said.
The rink will be looking to make Canadian junior curling history.
鈥淚t鈥檚 obviously a thought that鈥檚 always lingering in the back of your mind, knowing it鈥檚 never been done before [three national titles in a row],鈥 Tardi said.
Meanwhile, Team Daniels from Delta defeated Victoria鈥檚 Team Reese-Hansen 鈥 consisting of Taylor Reese-Hansen, Catera Park, Jordan Koster and Sydney Brilz 鈥 10-4 in the sa国际传媒 junior women鈥檚 final, which also took place in Vernon.
