Thunder send Shamrocks spiralling to fifth consecutive loss

The Victoria Shamrocks tumbled to their fifth consecutive defeat in a 9-5 Western Lacrosse Association loss Wednesday night to the Thunder at the Langley Events Centre.

The Thunder scored four unanswered goals in the third period to pull out the victory. The score was deadlocked 1-1 after the first period and 5-5 after the second period.

Curtis Dickson led league-leading Langley (10-1) with two goals and three assists for five points. Tom Vaesen replied with two goals for Victoria (4-6-1). Casey Wilson, Derek Lloyd and Cory Conway scored the other Shamrocks goals.

Thunder goaltender Frank Scigliano was named game first star with a 44-save performance. Cam Dunkerley also made 44 saves in goal for the Shamrocks.

Victoria is in Burnaby on Friday night to take on the Lakers (2-8-1). — sa国际传媒
