The Victoria Highlanders split over the weekend on the Oregon Trail in United Soccer League Premier Development League play.
Sunday鈥檚 2-1 loss in Salem to Portland Timbers U-23 (3-5-2) left Victoria (3-7) at the foot of the PDL Northwest Division standings as Timbers U-23 moved out of the basement.
Blake Bodily scored twice to give Timbers U-23 a 2-0 lead. Francesco Bartolillo replied for Victoria in the second half, but it wasn鈥檛 enough.
The trip started out on a high note after the Highlanders defeated Lane United 2-1 earlier on the weekend in Eugene.
The Highlanders return to the Centennial Stadium pitch at the University of Victoria on Friday to face the Surrey-based TSS Rovers. Second-place TSS won the first two games of the sa国际传媒 derby this season to clinch the Juan de Fuca Plate, the side competition between the Rovers and Highlanders.
