The Victoria Shamrocks acquired right-handed offensive player Marshal King from the Maple Ridge Burrards in a Western Lacrosse Association trade in exchange for the playing rights to Jeff Shattler and Brett Craig.
Victoria-born King led the sa国际传媒 Junior A Lacrosse League in points per game average last season with 72 points on 31 goals and 41 assists in 11 games for a 6.5 points-per-game average.
The Burrards, picking ahead of Victoria, selected King in the first round of the 2019 WLA draft.
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to get a young local player in Marshal King, who is one of the best prospects to come out of Victoria in a long time,鈥 said Shamrocks GM Chris Welch.
鈥淸But] we鈥檙e sad to see Shattler and Craig go.鈥
Marshal King will play alongside brother and veteran Shamrocks star Jesse King.
鈥淚t鈥檚 pretty impossible for me to put into words; growing up idolizing players who played for the Shamrocks, and then watching the success my brother had with the club,鈥 Marshal King said in a statement.聽
