The Victoria Grizzlies have added some American muscle, with the addition of defenceman Dom Racobaldo of Merchantville, N.J.

Victoria coach Victor Gervais first noticed Racobaldo, a 6-foot-3, 215 pound, 17-year-old, at the Mac's Tournament in Calgary.

"He's a big presence on the ice. He play's like [Canucks D-man] Willie Mitchell," Gervais said. "He's not offensively gifted, but he's going to prevent goals, that's for sure."

Racobaldo hails from the prestigious Shattuck-St. Mary's prep school in Faribault, Minn., where NHL stars Sidney Crosby and Jonathan Toews both honed their skills.
