When UBC-Okanagan looked outside for the University of Victoria scoring threats, the Vikes went inside to forward Katie Langdon, in an 81-64 sa国际传媒 West women鈥檚 basketball victory in Kelowna on Friday night.
Langdon scored 18 points. Not that UVic鈥檚 more vaunted perimeter shooting didn鈥檛 contribute, as well, as Vikes guards Calli McMillan and Amira Giannattasio scored 15 and 11 points, respectively.
The Vikes moved to 9-8 in conference while last-place UBC-O fell to 1-18.
Meanwhile, the UVic men鈥檚 team (7-10) recorded a key 91-73 victory over UBC-O (7-12) to bolster their playoff hopes.
Forward Jake Newman did the damage inside for UVic with 27 points while point-guard Scott Kellum poured in 22 shots from the outside. Vikes guard Mason Loewen returned to action from injury with 14 points.
The UVic and UBC-O men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 teams meet again tonight in the Interior.
The Vikes teams close out the sa国际传媒 West regular season next weekend against the MacEwan Griffins from Edmonton on Ken and Kathy Shields Court at CARSA Gymnasium.
