The quest for the five-peat remained alive for the University of Victoria Vikes in the U Sports national women’s field-hockey championship in Toronto.
The Vikes beat the University of Toronto Varsity Blues 1-0 in the second game Saturday of the best-of-three to tie the series 1-1 and send it to a deciding third game today. The Varsity Blues won the opening game Friday night in a penalty shootout.
Rookie forward Josie Dunham scored the goal for UVic on Saturday, while third-year Vikes veteran midfielder Chloe Langkammer was named player of the game.
