Brynn Tomie鈥檚 solid 1-over 72 on Wednesday gives her a two-day total of 146, one shot ahead of Vikes teammate Megan Woodland, who turned in a 3-over 75 on a wet and dreary day on the course.

Combined with teammate Emily Nicol鈥檚 rounds of 80 and 75, the Vikes are on top of the team leaderboard as well with an overall score of 22-over 448, six strokes better than the second-place Montreal Carabins and 20 better than the defending champion UBC Thunderbirds.

鈥淭he girls are just lighting it up in Round 2,鈥 Vikes head coach Bryan Carbery said in a statement. 鈥淭hey are currently 20 strokes over UBC and Brynn, Megan and Emily all shot 76 and under. The course was really, really wet and given the terrible conditions, I have to say the girls have played the best I鈥檝e seen for this season.鈥

Victoria鈥檚 Michaela Abey and Michaela Misener sit tied for 21st and 22nd, respectively, after rounds of 80-83 for Abey and 81-83 for Misener.

Meanwhile, the UVic men were well back after Round 1 of competition and second-day play was suspended due to damp conditions with several players on the course.

Third-year team member Carson Kallis led the way for the Vikes after an opening round 75, but he was well back of leader Ugo Coussaud of Laval who opened with a 66.

Matthew Broughton and Jesse Teron, both with 76, Alex Cartwright, 77, and Jamie Cartwright with a 78 rounded out the Vikes鈥 scores after the first round as the team sat in seventh place, 14 shots off the lead set by UBC. Laval was second.
