Victoria Eagles take series against North Delta Blue Jays

Ethan Skuija tossed a complete-game two-hitter as the Eagles took Game 1 4-0 over the visitors.

In Game 2, in which the Blue Jays were the home team, starting pitcher Fynn Chester went six and two-thirds innings with relief pitcher Martin Eckard earning the save in a 3-1 Eagles’ victory.

Tyler Duncan, Kobe Morris and Kieran Waters all had two hits apiece for Victoria in the second game.

Mackenzie Marquis was 3-for-4 at the plate for North Delta. Tyler Hoefer took the loss on the mound for the Blue Jays.

The Eagles now advance to the BCPBL Championship series beginning Thursday at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria as the four winners from the
opening playoff series continue on.

The Eagles were the second seed during the regular season, behind the North Shore Twins, who swept the Abbotsford Cardinals on Saturday.

Admission to the championship tournament is $2 per game for students and $5 for adults. Weekend passes are available for $20 and a family pass is $40.
