It鈥檚 early in the West Coast League baseball season, so an ironing out of the kinks is to be expected. The Victoria HarbourCats utilized four Wenatchee AppleSox errors to build a 5-0 lead by the top of the third inning on Wednesday night in Washington state en route to an 8-3 victory.
Aaron Celestino from Houston, Texas, was the starter for Victoria and had a solid six innings of work in staking the HarbourCats to a 5-1 lead.
A Tanner Haney single scored Frankie Niemann to make it 6-2 in the top of the eighth inning and then Haney scored on a Kayden Beauregard single to centre field to put it away for Victoria at 7-2.
Both teams are 1-1 heading into Thursday night鈥檚 conclusion of the three-game set in Wenatchee.
The HarbourCats return for the home opener on Friday night at Wilson鈥檚 Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park against the defending WCL champion Corvallis Knights.
