The Victoria Highlanders will be looking for their first win, and first goal, of the Premier Development League soccer season Friday night at 6:35 at Centennial Stadium against Lane United from Eugene, Oregon.
The Highlanders began the season with 2-0 and 1-0 losses to the Foothills in Calgary, and a 1-0 loss to Portland Timbers U-23, in Victoria鈥檚 home opener last weekend at Centennial Stadium.
Central defender Callum Montgomery of the Highlanders was named this week as one of the top-50 pro prospects in the PDL this season.
Lane United, a team with historic ties to La Liga Spanish clubs and several recruits from there, is 1-1 after a 4-1 victory over the TSS Rovers of Surrey and a 3-1 loss to Seattle Sounders U-23.
The Highlanders also play TSS Rovers in a PDL matin茅e on Sunday at Centennial Stadium.
