With their two pre-season wins tucked under their belts, the Victoria Junior Shamrocks will now focus on their regular season, which begins at home on April 27.
鈥淭he boys looked good [Wednesday] night again. Both games they have shown a lot of foot speed, a lot of hustle and I鈥檓 very pleased with the goaltending in both as well,鈥 said Jr. Shamrocks general manager Rod Wood.
Cody Hagedorn, Derek Anderson and Charles Claxton have all played a period each in net in both games.
The Jr. Rocks dumped the Nanaimo Jr. Timbermen 11-7 on Wednesday in Chemainus and also beat the Nanaimo Sr. B Timbermen 12-5 on Saturday at Bear Mountain Arena.
Over the two outings, the Jr. Shamrocks have had offensive production from Czech product Dominik Pesek, who had three goals and four assists; Chris Wardle, two goals and five assists; Devan Casey, four goals and three assists; Dane Schoor, one goal and five helpers; Max Fredrickson, three goals and two assists; and Jake Cullen, who had five goals.
鈥淛ake is a first-year junior off our Intermediate A team last year. He鈥檚 a big kid with good hands and a lot of his goals in those two games were opportunistic,鈥 said Wood, whose team gets back to practice Tuesday and Wednesday in preparation for the league and home-opener next Saturday at 5 p.m. versus New Westminster.
