Veteran sniper Rhys Duch has re-signed for an 11th season with the Victoria Shamrocks, the Western Lacrosse Association club announced Tuesday

鈥淚鈥檓 excited and proud to be a part of my hometown team for another year,鈥 said Duch, in a statement.

鈥淢anagement and coaching have put together an awesome group of experience, talent, and youth, that will certainly challenge for another Mann Cup.鈥

Boasting a 4.25 points-per-game average, Duch has tallied 416 goals and 507 assists in 217 regular-season and playoff games for the Shamrocks. He was a two-time WLA scoring champion in 2014 and 2016 and named the WLA鈥檚 most valuable player in 2016. Duch has a Mann Cup ring as part of the 2015 national-championship Victoria squad.

鈥淩hys Duch is up there with the greatest lacrosse players that Victoria has ever produced,鈥 said Shamrocks GM Chris Welch. 鈥淗e鈥檚 a threat to score every time he steps on the floor and provides veteran leadership on our young team with everything he has accomplished.鈥

Duch joins already announced players Keegan Bell, Larson Sundown, Marshal King, and Chris Boushy on the 2019 Shamrocks roster.

鈥淚n our 70th anniversary season, we are setting the goal the same as every year 鈥 to win a Mann Cup,鈥 said Shamrocks president Jim Hartshorne.

鈥淓veryone in our organization wants to get that feeling that we did in 2015.鈥
