At least one Victoria golfer will be in the field at next year's RBC Canadian Open on the PGA Tour.

Kevin Carrigan of Royal Colwood led from start to finish to claim the 2012 Canadian Men's Mid-Amateur Championship at Point Grey Golf Club in Vancouver.

His final-round 2-under-par 70 put the finishing touches on a three-stroke win, courtesy of a 3-under 285 total. With the victory, Carrigan earns an exemption to the 2013 RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont.

"Like any golfer that's ever played the game, it's a dream to play on the PGA Tour. I know that I'm not playing on the PGA Tour, but I'm playing in a PGA Tour event," Carrigan told Golf sa国际传媒 after the win.

"I'm just smitten right now. I'm over the moon.

This is a great way to cap off the summer."

Carrigan out-legged three-time Mid-Amateur champion Dave Bunker of Woodbridge, Ont., by three strokes, while Craig Doell of Victoria Golf Club finished tied for third at 2-over 290 after recording a 5-under 67 in the last round.

Doell finished tied for third with defending Mid-Amateur champion Rob Couture of Trenton, Ont., who is now a resident of Dallas. Doell also placed second in the Mid-Master division behind Bunker.

A pair of Gorge Vale members finished in a fiveway tie for 12th overall as Bryan Toth and Brent Wilson came in with 12-over 300 totals.
