Glen Jackson defeated Jason Montgomery 6-4 in an all Victoria Curling Centre matchup in one of Friday night鈥檚 two C-event finals at the Nelson Curling Club. Fellow VCC skip Neil Dangerfield lost 5-4 to former Victoria skip Dean Joanisse (now of the Royal City Club in New Westminster) in the other.

Jackson now faces Joanisse in tonight鈥檚 Page 3 vs. 4 game at 7 p.m. with the winner moving on to a semifinal matchup against the loser of the Page 1 vs. 2 game that involves two-time defending champion Jim Cotter of Vernon and Sean Geall of Royal City.

Cotter, a five-time provincial champion, plays Geall at 2 p.m. today.

The semifinal is set for Sunday at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast on Sportsnet Pacific.

The winner of that matchup advances straight to the championship on Sunday at 4 p.m. on Sportsnet 360.

Jackson and his crew of third Andrew Komlodi, second Corey Chester and lead Joel Cave finally broke through after losing the A-event final 7-4 to Cotter and dropping the B-event qualifier 5-1 to Geall, giving up a deuce in the ninth and allowing a steal of two more in the 10th.

Sunday afternoon鈥檚 champion will represent sa国际传媒 at the Tim Hortons Brier in Ottawa on March 5-13. The Brier field should be complete by Sunday night as other provinces are also holding their provincial championships
