Naomi Ko is bringing yet another trophy home as her fabulously successful summer of 2016 nears its conclusion.

Ko鈥檚 even-par 72 on Friday was more than enough as the 18-year-old member of Royal Colwood and the national amateur team claimed her first Canadian Junior Girl鈥檚 Golf Championship after finishing third last year and fourth in 2014.

Ko 鈥 who recorded rounds of 71-67-73-72 for a 5-under 283 total 鈥 out-legged the field, winning by four strokes over Chloe Currie of Mississauga, Ont. They were the only two players under par for the week at The Links at Penn Hill in Nova Scotia.

鈥淜nowing that it was my last Canadian junior, I really wanted to win it,鈥 Ko told Golf sa国际传媒 officials afterward. 鈥淚 tried to keep myself grounded and play it one shot at a time.鈥

Earlier this summer, Ko, who will head into her sophomore season at North Carolina State next month, won the stroke play portion of the Pacific Northwest Women鈥檚 Amateur in a three-way playoff before finishing runner-up in the match-play final. She also won the Portland Classic Amateur, which qualified Ko for her first ever LPGA event.

She made the cut at the LPGA Cambia Portland Classic before missing the mark at the U.S. Women鈥檚 Open which featured the likes of Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson, who at the time were the No. 1 and 2 women鈥檚 players in the world.

Naomi Ko also finished tied for seventh at the Canadian Women鈥檚 Amateur.

Her final round on Friday saw her record birdies at the second, third and fifth holes before making bogey at Nos. 7, 11 and 14 for the 72.

鈥淚 got off to a really good start on the front nine,鈥 said Ko. 鈥淭he wind wasn鈥檛 really in effect, but as I got to the back nine it really started picking up.鈥

Mary Parsons of Delta, Alisha Lau of Richmond and Cecile Kwon of Maple Ridge rounded out the top five as sa国际传媒 golfers dominated the Canadian junior event.

Fellow Vancouver Islanders also fared well as Shirin Anjarwalla of Nanaimo placed 19th; 13-year-old Akari Hayashi of Uplands Golf Club was tied for 21st; Megan Ratcliffe of Qualicum Beach tied for 38th; and Courtenay鈥檚 Abigail Rigsby was tied for 49th.
