Taylor Reese-Hansen took the long route, but the Victoria Curling Club skip will play for a sa国际传媒 junior curling championship this morning in Langley.
Reese-Hansen, with Catera Park at third, Jordan Koster at second and lead Sydney Brilz, will face Sarah Daniels of the Royal City club in the junior women鈥檚 final at 11 a.m.
Reese-Hansen, who finished third in the round-robin standings, defeated Kimberley鈥檚 Alysha Buchy 8-7 in the Page 3-4 game and then downed Elizabeth Bowles of Royal City 7-3 in the semifinal on Friday.
Daniels, the favourite, downed Bowles 11-5 in the Page 1-2 game to advance straight to the final.
The winner of today鈥檚 championship game will represent sa国际传媒 at the 2018 New Holland Canadian Junior Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Curling Championships, Jan. 13-21 in Quebec at the Centre municipal de curling de Shawinigan and the Ar茅na de Grand-M猫re.
Meanwhile in junior men鈥檚 play, Alex Horvath鈥檚 VCC rink lost 7-2 to defending champion Tyler Tardi of Langley in the Page 1-2 game and then lost 10-3 to Dawson Ballard of Royal City in the semifinal. Horvath鈥檚 team included Ryan Cassidy at third, Zane Bartlett at second and Tim Henderson at lead.
The junior men鈥檚 final is slated for 3 p.m. and both championship finals will be live-streamed on Curl BC TV at sportscanada.tv/curlbc.
