Vikes women rally for soccer win

Carly Neis scored for Mount Royal at 10 minutes. Mia Gunter equalized for UVic at 25 minutes. Sarah Douglas, with her second goal of the season, took a pass from Stephanie Badilla-Gutierrez for the winner at 54 minutes.

Puck Louwes took the win in goal for the Vikes.

The Vikes, ranked No. 10 in sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½, now have two wins and a tie on the young season.

The UVic Vikes men’s team (1-3) also fell behind early at Centennial Stadium on Saturday on a goal at six minutes by Taylor Johnson of the Trinity Western Spartans. Paulo Dait levelled for UVic at 26 minutes. But a late goal by Elie Gindo gave Trinity Western (5-1) the 2-1 victory.
