The Walla Walla Sweets rode a seven-run third inning to a 9-7 West Coast League victory over the Victoria HarbourCats on Wednesday night in southeastern Washington state.

The Sweets took a 9-1 lead into the eighth inning and then withstood a late Victoria rally to win the rubber match of the three-game series.

The Victoria highlight was a home run by Cade Brown. The big first-baseman also had a double on a two-hit, two-runs scored and three RBI night.

Victoria starter Owen Sharts, a 2018 MLB draft pick of the Texas Rangers, was pulled after allowing nine runs, but only two of them earned, in 22脷3 innings of work. Both teams committed four errors.

The Sweets moved to 13-8 on the season, while the 鈥機ats dipped to below .500 at 10-11.

The HarbourCats return home to host the Kelowna Falcons on Friday night.聽
