Westshore Rebels rally for 45-32 victory in Kamloops

Rebounding from a 27-21 road loss to the Okanagan Sun last weekend, the Rebels rallied for the victory to improve to 3-1 on the season. Kamloops remains winless at 0-4.

Jamel Lylesran for three scores, Trey Campbell scampered for a pair of touchdowns, Scott Borden threw for one and Callum Duke added a field goal for the victors.

Colby Henkel threw for three touchdowns for the Broncos, who battled back from a 10-0 deficit to assume 14-10 and 21-17 leads. Anthony Arduini added a field goal for Kamloops.

鈥淭hey play really tough at home. They got beat handily by Langley last week, but they had to travel and that鈥檚 indicative of young teams, which we are as well,鈥 Rebels head coach J.C. Boice said of the Broncos prior to travelling.

Kamloops did score 30 points on the Sun in its Week 1 loss.

Meanwhile, the Vancouver Island Raiders also made the trek to the Interior only to lose 37-19 to the Sun, which remains undefeated at 4-0. The Langley Rams downed the winless Valley Huskers 34-16 to improve to 3-1, ahead of the 2-2 Raiders.

The Rebels travel to Chilliwack on Saturday to face the Huskers at 1 p.m.
