SEOUL, South Korea (AP) 鈥 North Korea has confirmed that its recently revised constitution defines South Korea as 鈥渁 hostile state" for the first time.
North Korea鈥檚 rubber-stamp parliament met for two days last week to change the country鈥檚 constitution but state media hadn鈥檛 immediately provided many details about the session.
Leader Kim Jong Un in January called for the constitutional change to designate South Korea as the country鈥檚 main enemy, remove the goal of a peaceful Korean unification and define the North鈥檚 sovereign, territorial sphere.
The official Korean Central News Agency said Thursday that the constitution 鈥渃learly defines鈥 South Korea 鈥渁s a hostile state鈥 when it reported about the North鈥檚 recent demolitions of unused road and rail links that once connected North Korea with South Korea.
KCNA gave no further details of the constitutional change.
