Japan's share benchmark resumes swings after calm day on Wall Street

Shares were mostly higher Wednesday in Asia, with Japan鈥檚 benchmark Nikkei 225 index falling shortly after the open and then bouncing as it climbed higher. The Nikkei index was up 2.3% by midmorning, at 35,464.61.
