London Drugs offers shelf space to restaurants impacted by COVID-19

If you鈥檙e a restaurant in Western sa国际传媒 looking to sell your packaged products during the pandemic, more shelf space has opened up.

London Drugs is expanding its Local Central program to provide shelf space for businesses and restaurants to sell products such as sauces, jams and apparel.

Since launching a year ago, the program has helped more than 100 local businesses earn revenue despite pandemic-related store closures, according to the company. Eight Vancouver Island stores are currently stocking products from the Local Central initiative.

鈥淭he collateral damage to small businesses created by the pandemic has been devastating and, the restaurant industry 鈥 particularly those small and locally owned 鈥 has sustained one of the heaviest blows,鈥 said Clint Mahlman, president of London Drugs.

鈥淎s a company, we want to offer any support we can to restauranteurs and businesses in our communities right now, and we know our customers do, too.鈥

Mahlman said London Drugs is ready to review product submissions immediately and local restaurants can see their packaged products and merchandise on store shelves within a week.
