Toronto rockers Billy Talent will give their first Victoria performance in nearly a decade this fall, with Vancouver punks Gob as the opening act for their show at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
The concert on Oct. 11 is a rare one, where both bands are concerned.
Billy Talent has not performed in Victoria since 2014, and last appeared at the Blanshard Street arena in 2010. The band known for the hits Try Honesty and Devil in a Midnight Mass is touring to support its sixth album, Crisis of Faith, which earned singer Ben Kowalewicz, guitarist Ian D’Sa, bassist Jon Gallant, and drummer Jordan Hastings a Juno Award nomination for rock album of the year in 2022.
Gob, which no longer records but reunited for live performances in 2022, has also been absent from Vancouver Island for some time. The Ming Tran hitmakers have not played Victoria since 2015.
Tickets ($50.50-$65.50) go on sale June 2 at 10 a.m. through and . They are also available in person at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre (1925 Blanshard St.) or by phone from 250-220-2600.
