Enjoy a summer filled with music with the return of Christ Church Cathedral’s Summer Recital Series, at the cathedral, every Saturday in July and August.
This is the 61st season of the series, which features pianists, classical guitarists, cellists and the cathedral’s own 60-voice choir, playing a repertoire of music from birdsong to Beethoven.
“We’re excited to welcome music enthusiasts of all kinds to our Summer Recital Series,” said Donald Hunt, Christ Church Cathedral’s director of music. “We make a particular effort to engage some of Victoria’s most skilled professional musicians for these summer programs, which are both light and accessible without sacrificing on quality.”
This year’s series promises to be a musical feast, with a blend of local and international artists.
One of the highlights is a concert by pianist-comedienne Sarah Hagen, who will take the audience on a journey exploring music inspired by birdsong, with a unique blend of musical virtuosity and humour.
Admission is by donation. Concerts start at 4 p.m. every Saturday until Aug. 26 at Christ Church Cathedral, 930 Burdett Ave. For more information, go to .
