Idina Menzel hasn't appeared on Broadway since winning the Tony Award in 2004 for playing Elphaba in the hit musical Wicked.
But fans of the actor - and there are many - have gotten their Menzel fixes from her concerts and various film and television appearances, most recently in Glee, playing Vocal Adrenaline coach turned McKinley High staffer Shelby Cochran (and Rachel's birth mother).
Menzel, at the opening of The Book of Mormon in Hollywood at the Pantages Theatre this week, said that next up is Disney's new animated movie Frozen, written by none other than Book of Mormon co-creator Robert Lopez.
In Frozen, Menzel will voice the character of Elsa, the Snow Queen, who is the subject of the search by a young, mountain-climbing girl named Anna, voiced by Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). The film is slated for release in November 2013.
But fear not, theatre lovers. The Tony Award-winning actor hasn't abandoned the stage. Menzel says she has "some other stuff for theatre that I'm not ready to talk about yet."
