The New Year鈥檚 Day levee is an enduring Canadian tradition, with the first held in 1646 by the first governor of New France, Charles Huault Montmagny, at Chateau Saint-Louis in Quebec City.

While time marches on for most people, families can walk or run instead at the 24th Run Through Time five-kilometre run, three-km walk or one-km walk on New Year鈥檚 Eve.
