It took more than two years and several price cuts, but a compound in Malibu owned by now-divorced couple Mel Gibson and Robyn Moore Gibson has sold for $9,261,250. The property had been listed in March 2010 at $14.5 million.

The buyer is recently divorced reality-TV producer Mike Fleiss.

Described as an "old world hacienda," the main house features hand-painted details, stone and hardwood floors, several fireplaces, six bedrooms and 5 1 /2 bathrooms. The master suite has a sitting room with a fireplace and two walk-in closets. The property includes three self-contained guesthouses, a two-storey entertainment pavilion with a kitchen and fireplace, a separate media room, a gym, a lighted tennis court, a swimming pool, a spa and mature pepper, oak and avocado trees.

The Gibsons, who were married in 1980, bought the property in 1989 for close to its listing price of $3 million, according to Los Angeles Times archives.

Actor-director Mel Gibson, 56, won two Oscars (best director and best picture) in 1996 for Braveheart. His career brought him to Victoria about 20 years ago - a scene for Bird on a Wire had Gibson and co-star Goldie Hawn roaring through Chinatown on a motorcycle.

Fleiss, 48, created The Bachelor and The Bachlorette.

MCHALE'S ESTATE IS SHIPSHAPE

The Ernest Borgnine estate is for sale in the Beverly Crest area of Los Angeles at $3.395 million.

On the market for the first time in 60 years, the gated English country com-pound sits on a half-acre knoll. The 6,148-square-foot home, designed by architect L.G. Scherer, features a formal entry hall, a grand staircase, a panelled library, an office, a den, six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There is a guesthouse and a swimming pool.

Borgnine, who died this year at 95, is remembered for his Oscar-winning performance in Marty (1955) and his work in the title role of the sitcom McHale's Navy (1962-65). Until last year, he was the voice of Mermaid-man in the SpongeBob SquarePants series.

REAL HOUSEWIVES STAR MOVES ON

Reality TV's Adrienne Maloof, of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and her estranged husband, plastic surgeon Paul Nassif, have listed their home in gated Beverly Park at $26 million.

Built in 2000 and designed by Richard Landry, the two-storey French chateau sits behind gates on two acres containing a guesthouse, swimming pool, pool house and tennis court. Features include a two-storey entry with a sweeping staircase, a formal dining room that can seat 14, a panelled library, a home theatre, a wine cellar, a gym, eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms in nearly 20,000 square feet of living space.

Maloof, 51, has been on the reality series since 2010. Nassif, who also has appeared on the show, filed for divorce in August.
