Dear Dr. Roach: My 58-year-old daughter has Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. She started to have memory problems in April 2015. I know this disease is rare, and I can鈥檛 find out much about it. Most people and even some doctors have never heard of it.

Dear Dr. Roach: Our 44-year-old son was diagnosed with gout 10 years ago. He was given different medications to help with the terrific pain. Several of the meds were steroids. He seems to have this condition under control, somewhat.

Dear Dr. Roach: My daughter鈥檚 blood pressure has been high since she was 14, and she is now 43. Her blood pressure recently has been 210/142, and she is having trouble getting it down. She has seen several doctors, and none has an answer. J.E.

Dear Dr. Roach: I have a question regarding medical providers. In the past, when I have made an appointment to see my physician, I have seen the physician. Lately, when I make an appointment to see my physician, I am seen by a physician assistant.

Dear Dr. Roach: I am a woman in my mid-20s, am not overweight and never have been. I have two children. Ever since about age 13, I have had this swishing sound in my stomach.

Dear Dr. Roach: Can you explain what sundown syndrome is? My mother is 96 and has been diagnosed with it, but said they could do nothing about it. Is there some medication for this type of syndrome? She says she sleeps well. P.S.

Several weeks ago, I wrote that something happened that I thought would never happen.

Dear Dr. Roach: My thyroid gland was removed due to cancer in 2007. Since then, there have been continuous prescription changes while trying to find an effective dose.

Dear Dr. Roach: Recent blood tests have left me perplexed. My hemoglobin, hematocrit and MCV were slightly high.
