MUSIC

Be part of sa国际传媒's largest annual outdoor symphony event at Sunday's Victoria Symphony Splash, where an expected 40,000 people will transform the Inner Harbour into an outdoor concert hall for a day.

A barge is the stage and boats of all sizes will bob to the sound of beautiful music.

The highlight of the concert is the much-anticipated finale, in which Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture will be accompanied by bells, cannons and fireworks exploding over the crowd.

Pre-concert activities include the Splash Family Zone between 1 and 5 p.m., complete with an instrument petting zoo (cuddle a clarinet or toot a trumpet), face painting and entertainment.

There are food and beverage vendors on Government Street, portable washrooms and several first-aid stations.

Admission is by donation (suggested donation is $5 or more).

Volunteers will circulate through the crowd to collect donations.

The opening act begins at 4 p.m. Sunday and the finale concludes at about 10 p.m.

Spectators are encouraged to bring a folding chair or blanket. People cannot set up their chairs before 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Small-craft owners are welcome - the harbour master will advise if boats are too close to the stage.

There is a reserved area for those in wheelchairs.
