A 60-year-old Ladysmith man is dead after an apparent ATV accident.
The man was picking salal in a remote area off Spruston Road near MacKay Lake on Thursday. When he did not return home at the normal time, family and friends went in search of him.
His son found him pinned underneath his all-terrain vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. Search and rescue, police, fire rescue and sa国际传媒 ambulance paramedics responded.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say indications are the ATV went off the pathway and down an embankment.
Police and the Coroners Service are investigating. The family has asked for the deceased man's name to be withheld.
