West Shore RCMP are investigating a hit-and-run and alleged assault in View Royal on Christmas Eve.
The incident took place about 7:45 a.m. on the Trans-sa国际传媒 Highway near the Helmcken off-ramp in View Royal, according to a police report.
A grey 2011 Mercedes GLK350 was travelling southbound on the highway in the right turn lane, intending to exit via the Helmcken off ramp, when it was side-swiped by a black Volkswagen Jetta.
Police said both vehicles pulled over, and the driver of the Jetta is alleged to have assaulted the driver of the Mercedes.
The driver of the Jetta did not remain on scene or provide information, police said. The driver of the Mercedes suffered minor injuries.
The Jetta driver is described as a white man between 40 and 45 years old, five-foot-10 to six feet tall with short black hair and a black beard. He was wearing glasses, a black shirt and black jeans at the time.
