Voting rights would聽motivate teens

Re: 鈥淭eenage brains are not ready to vote,鈥 letter, Feb. 17. Referring to the fact that teenage brains have not yet developed enough to make rational and well-thought-out decisions is degrading and insulting to the youth of today.

Heart attack is No. 1 killer of women

Re: 鈥淎natomy of a heart attack,鈥 column, Feb. 14. Thank you for highlighting heart disease in Heart Month. It is vital to get this message out. Too many people, like the series鈥 author, are unaware of the risks, dangers and symptoms of heart disease.

Media continue attacks on Campbell

Re: 鈥淓x-premier accused of groping woman in London in 2013,鈥 Feb. 16. The news media have opened a story about former premier Gordon Campbell鈥檚 supposed 鈥済roping incident鈥 and continue with his character assassination.

Teens able to make important decisions

Re: 鈥淭eenage brains are not ready to vote,鈥 letter, Feb. 17. As an 11-year-old boy, I find this letter hard to believe. Sixteen-year-olds are usually capable of making decisions that carry weight, such as how they will get jobs to support themselves.

Too few assistants for聽special-needs kids

Re: 鈥淪pecial-needs students treated shamefully,鈥 editorial, Feb. 15. I read the editorial with mixed feelings. I agree that students with special needs are suffering because there is a dire shortage of educational assistants.

Give us useful facts, not entertainment

Re: 鈥淩isk factors and Ze French Paradox,鈥 column, Feb. 16. I admire David Sovka鈥檚 courage in going public about his life-threatening experience in having a heart attack. His recovery gives hope to all of us and I wish him well.
