Of all of the hundreds of election signs I see around the lower Island, emblazoned with all sorts of messages and claims, I have seen only one that says: 鈥淧lease鈥 re-elect me.

Why shelter solutions aren鈥檛 working

People living in tent cities have repeatedly explained why temporary services do not meet their needs. Everyone needs a safe place to live all the time, not just six months of the year from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

As I see it, the biggest problem with the forms of proportional representation, as described on the website electionsbc.ca/referendum, is that too much power is given to the political parties.

Climate-change story was buried in paper

A way to get out the聽four-footed vote

Re: Election special section, Oct. 9. Asked to name the important issues, one Victoria council candidate wrote: 鈥淚 would like to engage every resident to have a backyard fruit and vegetable garden or even greenhouses.

ICBC鈥檚 changes not common in industry

Re: 鈥淚CBC changes are about fairness,鈥 letter, Oct. 5. In its letter, ICBC is defending its new $50 fee for unlisted driver protection by arguing that this is 鈥渃ommon practice across North America and beyond.
