We need to make current system better

Writers supporting the proportional-representation system point to examples where they say PR has worked well 鈥渇or years.鈥 Those views tend to be narrow and short-sighted, failing to take in the overall picture.

Taxes don鈥檛 seem to cover our needs

To date, I have been asked for donations to the Dandelion Society, the Open Door, the Mustard Seed, Our Place, Cool Aid, Salvation Army, Transition House, hospitals, the Cancer Society and, of course, the food bank and sa国际传媒 Christmas Fund.

McClung鈥檚 efforts also deserve recognition

Re: 鈥淭ribute to the power of one,鈥 editorial, Nov. 20. Courageous as Viola Desmond鈥檚 actions were, they pale beside those of Nellie McClung. A suffragette, McClung helped to win women the vote in Manitoba.
