Alberta tries to change environmental bill

Last month, the Alberta government and the petroleum industry sent a delegation to Ottawa to lobby senators (the chamber of sober second thought) to 鈥渙verhaul鈥 Bill C-69, or at least amend it so it is friendlier to the petroleum industry.

Burning firewood is assault on community

With autumn鈥檚 arrival comes the desire for many of my neighbours to fill the air with smoke from their chimneys. This constitutes a serious health risk for everyone. I moved my family to Victoria for the promised clean air and healthy lifestyle.

We need to show hatred cannot win

Tree-poisoner should be named

Re: 鈥$48,350 fine for poisoning boulevard tree,鈥 Oct. 27. Shame on the District of Oak Bay for not identifying the person responsible for poisoning the horse chestnut tree on Beach Drive.
