Re: 鈥淩egion needs plan to deal with tent city,鈥 editorial, Sept. 21. Poverty is not 鈥渘ormal.鈥 Normal people don鈥檛 fall so far. Normal people have homes, families, supports and options. We fear homelessness because we know that it could be us.

Walking through clouds of pot smoke

With the legalization of the use of cannabis just around the corner, I am going to have to not only walk through clouds of cigarette smoke, but now cannabis smoke. I can hardly wait.

Safe-injection sites are useless

Re: 鈥淚njection sites are working to save lives,鈥 editorial, Sept. 23. It is interesting that the editorial rebukes the findings of a 鈥渞espected medical journal鈥 that states 鈥渋njection sites have little or no impact鈥 on deaths from opioids.

Leaders must show empathy and respect

Housing is basic survival necessity

Apparently, the City of Victoria is working with an international group of experts euphemistically termed 鈥渢he Biketoria Dream Team鈥 to construct our life-threatening bike lanes.
